I Like Leaving Work On Time...

Long story short, JM and I work together a couple of days a week. I like to leave right on time. JM is prone to leave 15 minutes or so after the bell has rung. So in a creative attempt to leave on time, here is our IM conversation: (IM names have been changed to protect the innocent)

weatherly (5:14:18 PM): this is GOD, that's right, I have taken over Weatherly's IM. I am here to tell you that it is MY will that you leave work this evening on time at 5:30pm. I am giving you a 16 minute warning. Obey my commands.

johnmark (5:15:36 PM): wow, that is special

weatherly(5:15:45 PM): what is?

weatherly (5:20:40 PM): This is GOD. You have 10 minutes.

johnmark (5:20:58 PM): blasphemy is a sin

weatherly (5:21:28 PM): what are you talking about...? and what is special?

johnmark is mobile (5:22:58 PM)

weatherly (5:27:55 PM): This is GOD. You have 3 minutes.

Exit time 5:33pm- not to shabby :)

We're Back

So maybe it's the fact that it's Christmas card season and I feel the need to connect with everyone around the holidays, but this blog, that has been lying dormant for a good seven months is now active again. So thanks to you who still kept me in your blogroll even though I stink as a blogger. Updates to follow with lots of fun pics: my new nephew Wade, our new place (we we are gypsies), and new experiences in DC.

Newborn Super Model

Our Niece is Here!

Miss Audrey Kate Carroll was born this morning (right on her due date) at 5:05 am, 6lbs, 9oz., 19 1/4 inches long. I got to talk to Ives around 4 am and she was doing much better after just getting the epidural! As her Mama says, Audrey is absolutely gorgeous and I agree! Can't wait to meet our precious niece!

Better...

Thank you to all of you who lifted my family up in prayer! My grandmother is doing better and I will not be going to Dallas as expected. I am hoping, if the Lord allows, that I will get to spend some time with her after the bar exam (and see my niece who should have popped out by then). This is huge relief as I was wondering how I was even going to get all of my books on the plane ;)

In completely unrelated news, I am so excited about my new phone that is coming tomorrow ;) I have been with T-Mobile since they started but their service in DC is awful. As of Friday, I am officially a Verizon customer and I feel extra cool that I can receive phone calls in the tunnels of the Metro. So for all of you that I speak to regularly, I apologize for the last year or so of numerous dropped calls and I look forward to speaking to you without being interrupted.
